A Community Music Project
Pale Fire Music & Left for Dead began in 2018 as a not-for-profit community music project. From 2018 to 2020, we held a monthly residency at The Wakes, Oakengates, Telford, featuring original performers across Folk, Roots, Indie, Rock, and Jazz genres. Our team of unpaid volunteers, from diverse backgrounds including musicians and business people, was dedicated to promoting live music. Collective member Andy Haddon, proprietor of Left for Dead, brought his extensive experience from promoting artists like Chris Forsyth and The Hanging Stars at the former Wightman Theatre in Shrewsbury. Our early residencies showcased artists such as Ethan Johns, KORNASTONE, and Tom Baxter.
Memorable moments and significant growth
A significant milestone in our history was when we transferred our project to the Firefly venue. Much This allowed us to expand our activities to include staging touring artists from the UK and overseas. We've had the privilege of hosting incredible talents such as Matt Deighton, The Thing, Pictish Trail, The Nightingales, Black Doldrums, The Courtesy Group, Black Helium, Sweetpool, Steve Gunn & James Etherington. These experiences have not only enriched our programme but also solidified our commitment to bringing exceptional original music to our community.
Evolution and pride in our community
Pale Fire Music has evolved significantly, moving from promoting local artists to hosting national and international touring acts. We have continually developed our expertise, now utilising professional sound and lighting engineers. We are proud to have improved the customer experience by bringing our sound-system to the venue, & employing professional Sound & Lighting Engineers to enhancing the sound quality of the venue through digital mixing techniques and visual projections. This ongoing commitment to excellence and community engagement is at the heart of everything we do.
