A Community Music Project
Pale Fire Music & Left for Dead formed in 2018 as a not-for-profit community music project. We were offered an opportunity by Ann & Mark Johnson of the Forge Urban Revival community organisation to host live music events featuring local musicians.
From 2018 to 2020, we created a monthly live music night at local authority premises The Wakes, Oakengates, Telford, featuring performers across Folk, Roots, Indie, Rock, and Jazz genres.
From 2020 to 2022 we endured a break forced on us by COVID.
Since 2022, we moved to the 200-capacity grass roots venue Firefly club in Oakengates, Telford.
We continue to pursue our commitment to live, original music. We bring touring artists from the UK and overseas to the Firefly while continuing to feature local musicians.
Memorable Moments
We reached a significant point in our history when we transferred our project to the Firefly club in 2022, and shortly afterwards successfully secured an Arts Council grant.
This allowed us to bring in touring artists from the UK and overseas. We've had the privilege of hosting incredible talents such as Matt Deighton, The Thing, Pictish Trail, The Nightingales, Black Doldrums, The Courtesy Group, Black Helium, Sweetpool, Steve Gunn & James Etherington.
These changes have not only enriched our programme but also solidified our commitment to bring meaningful original music to our community.
Evolution and Growth
Pale Fire Music has evolved significantly, moving from promoting local artists to hosting national and international touring acts.
We have improved the attendee experience by using a professional PA sound-system at the venue, and using local professional sound & lighting Engineers to enhance the quality of our events with digital mixing techniques and visual projections.
We have developed a relationship with our Borough Council, using our experiences to assist with the development of arts and culture in our locality.
This ongoing commitment to innovation and community engagement is at the heart of everything we do.
